Hello Neighbours,
Humber College Lakeshore Campus with never be the same!
Demolishing Humber College Lakeshore Campus West Building
I recently attended an information session at the Humer-Lakeshore Campus and was able to see first hand the plans in place for the new campus… and it’s awesome! This is by far the largest construction undertaking the Lakeshore campus has taken.

Back in the day, the West Building was once an elementary school before it became Humber College Lakeshore Campus. Unfortunately, it still feels somewhat like an elementary school and the air conditioner units in the windows don’t help. That’s why it’s getting a complete overhaul. Literally, an overhaul!
New modern plans for Humber College
Plans are to demolish the entire existing West Building… there will be no trace of the old building left. It will be replaced with a new 360,000 sq ft modern facility including more student housing, Cultural Hub and more!

Humber College Cultural Hub for Students to lounge and socialize

There will also be two performance halls (we’ll have our own Roy Thompson Hall in South Etobicoke) seating 600 and the other seating 150. This would a great facility for the community and others around to rent out too.

Humber College Lakeshore Plans for new outdoor sports dome
There will be a new gym and they are talking about creating an outside dome that will cover the current soccer field.

This new building will take a few parking spots away, but not to worry. Vacant land just north of the campus will be converted to a parking lot for Humber College staff and students. The great part is there will be a shuttle bus that will take people from the parking spot to the lakeshore campus grounds. It’s only a 10-minute walk but with our Toronto weather, it’s nice to have that luxury… if I may call it that. It’s a great idea!

I’m really excited to see the transformation and I will keep you all posted on the progress. This area is really changing and so is the real estate in Long Branch, New Toronto, and Mimico.
If you have any real estate questions feel free to email me. I would love to help!
